I came across a survey from Crohn’s and Colitis UK that shared that 15%of British respondents felt that Crohn’s was not a valid reason for missing work.

You Ever Wish Crohn's Disease Would Take a Break

Image
Hey Crohn's, It's Friday.  Feel Free to take the weekend off.  I really wish it would sometimes.  Saturday mornings are the worst.  It always takes a good part of the morning for my digestive system to get going.  I'm not sure if that is because sleeping longer throws something off.   Trying to leave the house early hardly ever happens.  There is too much back and forth toilet time. Then, if we leave around noon and grab something to eat, I usually have to find a toilet.  Ugh.   I hope you all have a nice, easy, and pain free weekend.  Thank you for reading.

It's Been A Rough Couple of Days

Image
I don't know what has been going on the last few days, but wow.  I haven't been to go, really go. It sucks.  I feel bloated, cramps have been coming and going, and I haven't been able to concentrate.  It has taken twenty minutes to get this far.  I don't know what I've eaten to make this happen.  I've cut out drinking as much soda.  Tried to increase my water intake. I have added cherries to my diet.  Not sure if the new fiber source is throwing things off.  I think I will have to look into the type of fiber contained in cherries and make a post about it.  Having to run to the restroom every hour or so because you think you have to.  But, nothing happens. Like I said, rough. I can feel the pressure building in my lower abdomen right now.  My heart-rate is around 90 bpm.  It usually speeds up along with the pressure builds. Shallow breaths and a slightly higher temp.  Ugggggh, this sucks.  My thoughts right now. From Someecards.com

Sleeping with Crohn's Disease

Image
Or trying to.  Waking up in the middle of the night doesn't happen to everyone with Crohn's, but for those who suffer, you know how bad it sucks. You would think that going to sleep would be an escape from your IBD symptoms, but nah. My Sleep Readout from my Fitbit.  Shows that I was awake twice which I remember. For me, It's cramps, then a sudden urge to dart to the bathroom. Sometimes, it's a false alarm.  Most of the time it isn't. There are times I wake up clenching my stomach or lighting sweating. My Fitbit always shows my heart rate elevated.    I'm usually out of bed for five to ten minutes.  Rough nights will have me awake for 45 minutes or so. Those are the worse. Imagine trying to stay awake the next day at work and then going to work out. Not fun. Having your Crohn's Disease symptoms wake you up is something that happens to people having a flare.  But, those not have a flare-up can still have the same issue. It doesn't happ

Sunday's Fun Workout From Heck

Image
We switched the Sunday workout a little. After Thursday, I was still feeling the burn. We were looking for some different, something active.  We had originally planned to drive to St. Joseph, MO for Kansas City Chiefs training camp. We purchased season tickets this year and Sunday was blocked off for those members. We didn't go because of the rain. So, looking for something else to do, Jess suggested SkyZone.  I hopped into the Groupon app and found a couple of 2-hour jump passes.  Once we arrived, we filled out our waivers (make sure you do it before going to the counter) and were on our way. Jumping for that long is something else! It took pretty much my whole body to keep jumping as high and long as I was.  Jumping into the foam pit was fun.  I'm glad I was reminded to not jump into the pit with my phone.  That could have been bad if dropped. Haha.  I attempted some flips, the main word there is attempted.  It's in the video.  My better half was able to have a

New Probiotic

Image
Taking probiotics has been going well, so I thought I would start looking for something with better quality ingredients. The current brand I have mentions that it has around 6 billion CFU. The refers to the number of bacteria you are getting.  The newer bottle has 40 billion CFU! I picked up this one from Amazon . It is manufactured by Bio Schwartz. There are also enough for a month. It was prime day and the price was good. The packaging was very bright and interesting. I get drawn in easily by bright colors. :)   This one mentions that it was allergen & gluten free.  Has 100% natural ingredients and a very high potency.  The high amount of bacteria helps it survive stomach acid and make it down to your intestines. Which is what you want in a probiotic. After taking a look at the reviews, I thought why not.  The bacteria strains listed are Lactobacillus Acidophilus (La-14), Bifidobacterium Lactis (Bl-04), Lactobacillus Plantarum(Lp-115), and Lactobacillus Paracasei (Lp
